At the end of the winter of 1944, in the Canadian Arctic, Qumak a young Inuk and his family continue their annual migration to their summer campsite. After leaving their igloo, Qumak helps an American pilot who has made an emergency landing on the tundra. Qumak's mother suddenly becomes ill and the shaman's magic is not able to cure her. He decides that in order to save her, he will go looking for the pilot and ask for his help. His actions bring these two peoples together. This story is about the meeting of two cultures, enhanced by the evocative drawings of Daniela Zekina.
