Welcome to the Interactive Game for Read Up On It

Begin The Alien Librarian Game
Begin The Alien Librarian
Game

Our game is entitled "The Alien Librarian". It is a detective game based on the books found in this year's Read Up On It kit. It is filled with amazing graphic images and fantastic animation. Click on the worm in the cloud at the left to start your adventure!

Hey kids! Please take a minute or two to read this. It is important!!!

The game is loading, meaning that as you read this, the graphics for the game which you are about to play are being loaded into your browser's cache. Having done this, when you get into the game itself, you will have a more seamless and interactive experience. The game is both Netscape and Internet Explorer friendly, basic html and uses scripting as often as possible.   It is adviseable to let this page load fully before playing as it is a somewhat graphic intense game, (as they should be!).

About the Game

"The Alien Librarian" is about an extraterrestial encounter between the National Library's bookworm, BiblioPhil, and a sinister little alien who has a job for BiblioPhil to do and grim consequences if he doesn't complete the task!

About the Designer

This is the third website that Adam Van Dyke has worked on for the National Library of Canada. He has used the skills he acquired at the world-renowned Sheridan College animation program to bring something different  and previously unseen to the "Read Up On It" digital projects .
