There is always hot, sunny weather on Gabriela's island. After their teacher describes Christmas and snowmen, Gabriela and her friends want to make their own snowman for Santa Claus. But there is no snow on the island!

The author does a delightful job showing how the students manage to turn white sand and grated nuts into "spring snow". The bright colours in the adorable illustrations resonate with joy. All in all, a sweet and exotic tale!
