Fred and Agathe receive a call from their best friend Klonk who wants them to come with him right away. There is no time to explain, they must be off. What follows is a crazy taxi ride, then a trip in a helicopter, a private jet and a sailboat to Klonk's new castle at the bottom of the ocean. After eating tonnes of sugar and candy, Klonk knows the time has come to explain what is going on. What could possibly be causing him to behave in this manner? It turns out that he needs to protect his new invention from his most dangerous adversary: himself.

François Gravel injects a lot of humour into the continuing adventures of Klonk, a hero who has a brain that is more than extraordinary. Following in the footsteps of Klonk's earlier adventures, the story has elements of the fantastic, and Pierre Pratt's cheery illustrations add to the pleasure of reading this book.
