JEAN BÉLISLE

Jean Bélisle holds a Ph.D. in maritime history from the University of Paris and has been teaching at Concordia University since 1979. He was a member of the team that established the Montreal Museum of Archaeology and History, and carried out research for Parks Canada on the old iron works of the St. Maurice River. His began researching the Molson steamers in 1982, and the books for young people that he has devoted to this topic reveal his extensive knowledge in that area. He is currently working on a new book dealing with steam navigation on the St. Lawrence River.
