Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Thematic Guide to Sources Relating to the Grosse Île Quarantine Station, a project funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage through its Canadian Culture Online Program.
This guide consists of a history, some specific archival sources, as well as selected references relating to quarantine and the Grosse Île quarantine station. The references include administrative and policy records of the colonial and federal governments and some records created at the station itself. Some of these contain genealogical information concerning persons who passed through or died at Grosse Île.
You are invited to visit the research guide at: www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/the-public/005-1142.08-e.html.
The contributions of many LAC staff were instrumental in the success of this project and their efforts are much appreciated.
