Portée et contenu

Fonds consists of photographs related to the life and career of Kenneth Molson. The photos depict commercial, private, and civilian aviation aircraft, personnel, activities, and operations in Ontario, Quebec, and Canada; American aviation aircraft; the Royal Naval Review, 1937; vintage automobiles, motorcycles, and C.N.R. locomotives; tanks and armoured cars; and views of Quebec and Ontario. Fonds also contains a report by W.R. Maxwell on flying boat operations in Northern Ontario, made in 1920, for the Province of Ontario by the Canadian Aero Film Company, and an introduction by K.M. Molson to the report. Fonds also contains recorded interviews, 1968-1971, about aviation history conducted by Kenneth M. Molson.

Biographie / Histoire administrative

Kenneth M. Molson, aviation specialist, was with the Aviation Division of National Steel Car Corporation from 1938 to 1942, Victory Aircraft in 1945, and Avro Canada Limited from 1945 to 1959. He was curator of the Aviation Museum in Ottawa from 1960 to 1967.

The textual records were acquired in 1973 from Kenneth M. Molson of Islington, Ontario.

The copies of photographs were made from originals loaned to the National Archives of Canada. The originals were returned to the lender, Kenneth M. Molson, Islington, Ontario.
