Additional information

Studies by the Geological Survey of Canada of sites across Canada; physical, stratigraphic, economic, and tectonic studies.

Approximately 2,800 card-mounted photographs from the same series were sent by Environment Canada to the Archives in 1986; these photographs were immediately integrated into this accession. No new accession form with a separate accession number was ever created specifically for the material acquired from Environment Canada..

The original restriction on the collection (a restriction unsupported by any correspondance on the accession file) read: "From a Geological Survey of Canada negative in the Public Archives of Canada". As this accession consists entirely of prints, for which the National Archives has only some of the corresponding negatives, the restriction note has been changed to the credit note. (A. Rodger, 19.11.93).
