On 14 October 2002, to honour Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee, Governor General Adrienne Clarkson invited thirty "extraordinary Canadians," one for each year of the Queen's reign to a luncheon at Rideau Hall. The records in this accession consist of two copies of booklets probably distributed during this "celebration of Excellence." The booklets include a brief introduction by the Governor General, the programme, and brief biographies on the thirty Canadians. Included in each booklet is a copy of the address given by the Governor General during the luncheon.
These records were delivered directly to the National Archivist's Office with no accompanying correspondence. On 10 October 2003, the National Archivist's Office sent the booklets to the archivist responsible for the Governor General fonds with the request that he find a "safe home for them in RG7."
