Arrival of Sir Edmund Head and his family. The Legislature will probably adjourn for the winter but Lord Elgin intends to remain to pass the bills of the session. Colonial voting with respect to the Reciprocity Treaty. Disposal of carriages and plate. Visitors at Spencerwood depart for Bermuda on a sailing ship. Enclosed: "Sketch of My Lady" by B[...], individual head and shoulders portrait in semi-profile of Lady Elgin.
