Lord Elgin describes the state of his health and recovery. Visit of Thomas Edmund Campbell. Lord Elgin expects to leave Canada at the end of next month. Report of the sinking of ship [JOHN] out of Montreal. Lord Elgin thinks that he has acted unwisely in not taking his wife's advice and severing his connection with Canada long ago. Dr. [James Arthur Sewell] considers Lord Elgin to be convalescing.
