Scope and content

Lord Elgin is anxious as one Quebec newspaper has alluded to the state of his health stating that he was "slightly indisposed". Lord Elgin's description of his health problems. Treatment prescribed by Dr. [James Arthur] Sewell. Lord Elgin explains his delay in returning home in connection with the Parliamentary session. Lord Elgin has written to Sir Edmund Walker Head to come as soon as he can after Parliament has been called for 5 September to relieve Lord Elgin.
