Letter written between the 15 and the 25 January, aboard the British North American Royal Mail Steam Packet Company Steamship, HIBERNIA. Lord Elgin's travel experiences and conditions during the voyage. Lord Elgin conveys his feelings to Lady Elgin on their relationship and the prospect of separation from her. Policy of taking a route to Canada by Halifax and Fredericton in order to visit the Provinces. Lord Elgin has been writing to Lady Grey to convey information to Lord Grey. The Steamship CUMBRIA.
