Comments on the despatch he received from General Larcom and his efforts to obtain information from other consuls. Enclosed: copy of secret despatch from Thomas A. Larcom to Pierrepont Edwards (Dublin Castle, 12 December 1866), requests assistance (before mid-January) in finding witnesses and obtaining written evidence against Stephen J. Meaney, awaiting trial at Dublin for participation in treasonable activities of the Fenian Brotherhood (in Ohio, Michigan and New York).
