Scope and content
Reports his election as an honorary member of the Burns' Club. Enclosed: "Constitution and By-laws of the Burns Club of the City of Washington, D. C.", pamphlet printed by William H. Moore; a newspaper clipping of a letter from T. J. Hovell Thurlow, Legation Secretary, to the Club, 10 January 1866, conveying the thanks of Sir Frederick pasted over the title page.
