Lord Plunket will keep Lord Elgin informed in his secret quarterly reports of anything that may be of use to Lord Elgin. Lord Elgin has asked for information regarding the subsidy to the Imperial Navy. Prime Minister Richard John Seddon hopes to convince Prime Minister Alfred Deakin at the Imperial Conference that the establishment of an Australian Navy is a mistake.
