Scope and content
Feeling of dissatisfaction in Canada that the United Kingdom thinks too little of the growing importance and expansion of Canada and is inclined to favour the United States with respect to financial and railway investments, mail steamer subsidies, postage rates and importation of Canadian cattle. Manufacturers of the United Kingdom are to blame for loss of trade in Canada. Enclosed: two letters from Robert Reford to Sir John Leng, Montreal, 5 and 11 January 1906.
