Scope and content

Sketch of a marine scene on the St. Lawrence River near Québec. There is a two-masted, square-rigged vessel at the center of the work. Cap Diamant, the Citadel and several vessels can be seen in the distance. There is the suggestion of buildings in the Lower Town. At the left are buildings on the south shore of the River and in the foreground, three birds in flight.
