Scope and content
A landscape / marine scene depicting a view of Wolfe's Cove from Spencerwood on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River. In the foreground at the left is an outcropping of rocks and at the right a tree with branches partly obscuring elements of the scene below. Buildings with gable roofs, some bellcast, follow the shoreline. In the distance, masted sailing vessels with their sails furled are moored alongside the shore, most at the botton of Cap Diamant. At the top of the promontory the artist has suggested the curtain walls of the battlements at Quebec.
