Scope and content

The title refers to the Saint Anne River. A riverscape depicting a view of Rivière Sainte-Anne, a tributary of the St. Lawrence River. In the foreground are exposed rocks where the water is shallow. At the left the land, which rises sharply from the river's edge, is covered in trees and other vegetation. Plant roots have been exposed by soil erosion. at the river's edge. In the background, the shoreline is irregular and covered with trees and other vegetation. Beyond the opposing shore is a mountainous landform.
