Scope and content

A riverscape / marine scene depicting a view of a two-masted fore and aft rigged sailing vessel with sails unfurled sailing through a mountainous region of the [Hudson River] where the passage is narrow and the land rises sharply from the shoreline. At the bottom left of the composition is a small island covered in vegetation.
