Scope and content
The title refers to Dundurn Castle. A marine scene depicting a distant view of Dundurn Castle on a rise of land and surrounding land formations and vegetation seen from Burlington Bay in Lake Ontario. Dundurn Castle has been very roughly sketched without architectural detail and suggests a rectangular main structure with two visible corner towers. At the left of the work, a single-masted fore and aft rigged sailing vessel sails past a wooden building with a gable roof located close to the shoreline near exposed rocks.
