Scope and content
A riverscape depicting the rapids and falls, Kabir Kouba on the Saint Charles River and surrounding vegetation at Lorette. A curved truss bridge crosses the river. On either shore are several buildings with gable roofs. The building on the far shore at the left of the work has a colonnade across the front with openings between the columns and a central chimney in the centre at the apex of the roof. The building to the right of it has a chimney at the end of the roof apex. On the near shore at the right, a building has dormer windows extending from the gable roof face. At the right of the middleground is an unidentified structure located among the vegetation at the end of a piece of land extending into the river. The artist has shown the foamy water rushing around the exposed rocks in the river.
