Scope and content
A marine scene depicting a view of Montreal from the St. Lawrence River. At the left of the work are buildings including the suggestion of two church spires. The masts of a number of sailing vessels moored alongside the shoreline are visible. At the right, Mount Royal rises in the distance with trees and other buildings close to the shoreline. In the water are a fore and aft rigged sailing vessel at the left and an unmasted boat with seated figures closer to the shore at the right.
