A landscape depicting a view from a highpoint at Richmond. At the left of the work a female figure wearing a poke bonnet is working at an easel. She is surrounded by shrubs and trees. At the right the scene continues downwards towards several rooftops with chimneys and beyond to the Thames River in which three figures are seated in an unmasted vessel.
