Scope and content

The title refers to Pointe-Lévy. The subject is a marine scene depicting fore and aft rigged vessels sailing St. Lawrence River viewed from Pointe-Lévy [Lévis] on the south shore across from Quebec. Buildings are visible along the north and south shores. Trees and other vegetation at Pointe-Lévy partially obscure the north shore. The vessel nearest to the viewer is a sloop.
