Scope and content

The subject is a landscape / marine scene depicting a view of the fortifications on Cap Diamant, the buildings of Lower Town and Upper Town and the St. Lawrence River from Beauport. Several masted vessels are sailing on the River or are alongside at Lower Town. The artist has shown fences, trees and other vegetation and single-masted fore and aft rigged vessels along the shore at Beauport.
