Scope and content

The title may refer to the garden of the Château Haldimand. The subject is a marine scene depicting a view of a three-masted square-rigged vessel and two smaller fore and aft rigged vessels in the St. Lawrence River from a opening in the leaves and other vegetation of a garden. Land masses are seen in the distance.
