Scope and content

The subject is a marine scene depicting a series of three two-masted square-rigged vessels with gunports and several small fore and aft rigged vessels near the south shore of the St. Lawrence River at Pointe-Lévy [Lévis] across from Québec. At the right of the work is Pointe-Lévy where a church and other buildings with red roofs are surrounded by vegetation.
