Scope and content
The subject is a landscape depicting vegetation, the Horseshoe Falls and the mist rising from the water and above the falls viewed from a balcony [of the Clifton Hotel] on the Niagara River. At the left, Terrapin Tower can be seen on Goat Island. The balcony has a balustrade with plain, square balusters. Outside the balustrade are two columnar structures supporting an upper level. On either side of the column on the right are three buildings among the vegetation in the distance.
