Scope and content

The title refers to St. Helen's Island. The subject is a marine scene depicting a view of St. Helen's Island and its vegetation as viewed from Montreal. In the St. Lawrence River, an unmasted vessel manned with three figures approaches the Island. Mont-Saint-Bruno at the left and Mont-Sainte-Hilaire at the right rise in the distance.
