Scope and content
The subject is a marine scene / townscape depicting buildings at Lower Town and a view of the St. Lawrence River across to buildings at Lévis. The buildings of the Lower Town are situated closely together, most having dormer windows. At the left of the work is partial view of Cap Diamant. There are several masted vessels at the shoreline and a three-masted, square-rigged vessel and a manned boat in the River. In the background, hills rise behind Lévis.
