1 drawing: pencil on wove paper, corners cut diagonally; 13x23 cm (image); 26x36 cm (folio)

Scope and content

The subject is a marinescape depicting a customs house and four other buildings suggestive of wooden construction and fences on an island in a body of water with landscape elements in the background. The island has a rocky shoreline with the land rising away from it. The upper part of a vessel's rigging is visible on the far side of the island. A seated figure is rowing a small boat in the foreground. In the distance near the shoreline behind the island are two vessels with fore and aft rigging.
