Scope and content

Seated figure; half of figure shown; frontal pose
The print depicts half length seated portrait turned to the left. The sitter rests one hand on his knee, the other on a table bearing two books. There is a partial watermark visible.
The sitter was a well known French poet and critic.
Dec. 1975 - the print is foxed and discoloured. There is a small hole near the left elbow of the sitter. There is foul-bit around the facsimile signature.
