Scope and content

A pencil sketch of the interior of the H.M.S. "Hastings." Two men in military uniform standing on the right, other men in uniform seated on a platform on the left.
Pencil sketch removed from album. Original paper mount (18.3 x 23.0 cm irregular) attached on another paper support (23.0 x 28.9 cm irregular). Album page reference numbers, title and artist note all inscribed on secondary support (mount).

Physical condition note
In September 2010, Conservation staff was asked to re-assemble the drawing and the auxiliary support layers. A request was made for the work to be digitally photographed after and the supports to be left in place to make the original inscriptions visible as part of the artwork as it was in the original state.
