Scope and content

Left profile head and shoulders portrait of Anne Alexis, a Micmac indian woman. Attributed to Lady Falkland, who painted and collected several Micmac portraits. Other artists include Nutting and McKie, who was the most accomplished of the group. Although there are records of the Falklands, Haliburtons, and Nutting travelling together, the groups' relationship within the local amateur art scene is not known.
