Pencil drawing by Coke Smyth of the H.M.S. "Improbable" and several other sailing vessels in the background, Devonport, U.K.
John Richard Coke Smyth came to Canada as drawing master to Lord Durham's family. He may have stayed on in Canada after they returned to England.
