Scope and content

One of several copies of old master paintings and drawings in the album. The source for this drawing is Anthony Van Dyck's group portrait of Algernon Percy, Earl of Northumberland with his wife and son (dated 1636-38, now in the collection of Lord Sackville). This work represents the head of the son, with the clothing slightly changed. Glue marks suggest that this work was not the original one mounted on this folio, or that the drawing was cut down at a later date.
