Scope and content

Four peasants, two females and one male, at the side of a road. One female holds a small child. The location is probably mediterranean or middle eastern. On the verso the recto composition is lightly sketched in with pencil. Lady Falkland travelled in the Middle East, India, and surrounding regions from 1848-54 with her husband who was governor of Bombay from 1848-53.
