Scope and content

Buildings in a densely foliated landscape. Lady Falkland travelled in Syria in 1854, after her husband's governorship of Bombay (1848-53). She mentions Banias in Chow-Chow, the book she wrote about their eastern travels (1857. London: Hurst and Blackett, vol 2, pp 255-6).
