Scope and content

Three figures in a forest setting. The inscription Mahabale[c]hum is probably meant to refer to Mahabaleshwur, which Lady Falkland mentions in her book, Chow-Chow (1857. London: Hurst and Blackett, vol 1.). She usually spent the hot season in the Mahabaleshwur Hills during her husband's governorship of Bombay (1848-53).
