Scope and content

Walled town of Tiberias seen from the plain, with mountains in the background. Lady Falkland travelled in Syria in 1854 after her husband's term as governor of Bombay (1848-53). She mentions Tiberias in Chow-Chow, the book she wrote about their travels (1857. London: Hurst and Blackett).
