Scope and content
Half length sketch of a woman wearing an elaborate head-dress and costume. Mr. Ziegler was patronised by William IV, Lady Falkland's father.
As a natural daughter, Falkland could not commission an artist of the first rank at court. However, several of the English professional artists represented in the album, such as Ziegler, Burgess, and Hayter, were connected in some way with the court.
The inscription is in Lady Falkland's handwriting.
