Commissions, estimates, invoices, journals of officers, memoranda, messages, petitions, proceedings and reports of boards, proceedings of Indian councils, returns, speeches, statements of deserters and correspondence. Only four unimportant papers are of an earlier date than 1793. This volume contains many letters from Joseph Chew to Thomas Aston Coffin, and copies of letters from John Butler, E.B. Littlehales, Alexander McKee, and Thomas Talbot to Chew, and copies of two letters from Timothy Pickering to Joseph Brant. A letter from McKee, dated 27th August 1794, describes the battle of the Fallen Timber, and is accompanied by a rough sketch of the locality. Copies of Indian treaties. 175 documents. Index of names.
