Scope and content
Sub-series consists of central registry files related to the St. Lawrence Ship Channel. For much of the twentieth century, work along the St. Lawrence Ship Channel was supervised by the St. Lawrence Ship Channel Division within Marine Services. These files were assigned the 8950 block within the Transport Central registry and some of the records were brought forward from the old registries of the Department of Marine and Fisheries. Subjects include, but are not limited to, ice-breaking, breakwaters, International Joint Commissions, ferry services, dredging, surveys and navigation of the St. Lawrence.
