Scope and content
Sub-series consists of miscellaneous photographs from across Canada documenting the administration of public lands and development and conservation of their natural resources. The photographic sub-series was originally compiled from both federal and provincial government sources including numerous sub-agencies and survey branches of the Department of the Interior. Photographs were also acquired from private sources and independent photographers across Canada. Photographs are organized by subject categories and regional categories as follows. Subject categories in the miscellaneous sub-series include aboriginals, agriculture, air views, animals, celebrations, ceremonies and official visits, community life, costumes, disasters, documents, domestic ativities, exhibitions, fire protection, flags, furniture and furnishings, funerals, icebergs, immigration and colonization, instruments, industry, land conservation, maps, municipal services, religion, scenery, services, sports and amusement. Regional categories in the miscellaneous sub-series include Alberta, Jasper Park Lodge, Mount Edith Cavell, British Columbia, Coastal Photos, Portland Canal, Vancouver, Victoria, Manitoba, Churchill Harbour, Fort Prince of Wales, New Brunswick, Fredericton, Fort Beausejour, St. John, St. John River, Newfoundland, North West Territories, Port Burwell, Wakeham Bay, Nova Scotia, Annapolis Royal Park, Ontario, Ottawa, Lake Superior, Welland Ship Canal, Kingston, Trent Valley Watershed, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Harrington Harbour, Saskatchewan, Yukon and other countries.
