Scope and content
Sub-series consists of photographs documenting the administration of international public lands with ties to various sub-agencies of the Department of the Interior. Photographs taken in Northern Greenland, Siberia, and Liverpool, England. The photographic sub-series was originally compiled from federal sources including certain sub-agencies of the Department of the Interior. Photographs were also acquired from private sources and independent Canadian photographers. The sub-series is organized alpha-numerically as follows. F-1 series consists of one photograph concerning agricultural production outside of Canada. Photo of a windrow harvester. No source or photographer is indicated. F-8 series consists of photographs documenting scenic views at Eastcape and Emmatown, Siberia. Sources include the Yukon and North West Territories Branch of the Department of the Interior. No photographers are indicated. F-12 series consists of photographs documenting transportation networks and services to Canada. Photos documenting the port at Liverpool, England. Photos of loading docks, customs offices and boarding stations at Liverpool. Sources include the Immigration and Colonization Branch of the Department of the Interior. No photographers are indicated. F-21 series consists of one photograph documenting the Danish port town of Etah Harbour in Northern Greenland. Photo originally acquired by the Yukon and Northwest Territories Branch of the Department of the Interior. Photo was taken during one of the annual arctic expedition patrols under the command of Mr. G.P. Mackenzie between 1925 and 1930. The first visit to Etah Harbour was recorded on August 19, 1925. F-22 series consists of one photographic reproduction of a map documenting war zones in France during 1918. No source is indicated.
