Scope and content
Sub-series consists of photographs of Saskatchewan documenting the administration of public lands and development and conservation of their natural resources. The photographic sub-series was originally compiled from both federal and provincial sources including numerous sub-agencies and survey branches of the Department of the Interior. Photographs were also acquired from private sources and independent photographers across Canada. The sub-series is organized alpha-numerically as follows. S-1 series consists of photographs documenting agricultural production and development in Saskatchewan. Sources include the Immigration and Colonization Branch of the Department of the Interior. Photos by the International Harvester Company of Canada, Experimental Farm at Indian Head, Saskatchewan, Experimental Farm, Ottawa, Canadian Pacific Railway Company, Canadian National Railway Company, W.J. Kerr, St Nihal Singh, Mr. Godfrey, Dr. Saunders and other sources. S-2 series consists of photographs documenting foresty, forestry reserves and forest fire prevention services in Northern Saskatchewan. Sources include the Forestry Services Branch of the Department of the Interior. Photos by the Experimental Farm, Ottawa and other sources. S-3 series consists of photographs documenting mining resources and operations in Saskatchewan. Photos of coal mining and excavation, sodium sulphite crystals and clay.
