Biography / Administrative history
The Pelly Agency in Saskatchewan, formerly known as the Assiniboia-Swan River Agency, was responsible for bands in the Treaty 4 region of Manitoba and Saskatchewan. The first agent was appointed in October 1888. The agency was also referred to variously as Fort Pelly, or Swan River. In 1969 the Pelly Agency merged with the Crooked Lake Agency to form the Yorkton District. Regional Administrative Histories, 1958-1990, (Bands, Agencies, Districts).
