Scope and content
Sub-series consists primarily of correspondence received by the Secretary of Indian Affairs relating to the Indians of New Brunswick, in particular those inhabiting the Restigouche River area. Included are copies of correspondence from the Lieutenant-Governor of New Brunswick to the Governor General, copies of Colonial Office despatches, and correspondence from the Commissioner of Indian Affairs of New Brunswick. The sub-series also contains a return of Mic-Macs resident in Prince Edward Island, June 1842 and a copy of an act passed by the Nova Scotia Legislature, March 1842, relating to Indian Affairs.
